Will Randy Foye Work Out In OKC?
The Thunder traded for Randy Foye before the trade deadline for DJ Augustin, Steve Novak, and two second round draft picks. The deal essentially saved the Thunder about 8 million in luxury tax alone. Breaking the trade down, the Thunder got rid of Novak, who had only seen the floor in 7 games for a total of about 30 garbage time minutes on the season. They also unloaded Augustin who saw his minutes go to rookie Cameron Payne. Unless there was an injury, Augustin was not likely to get his minutes back as he was a DNP in 20 of the Thunder’s last 23 games. In return, the Thunder receive Foye who has shown through his career that he can provide 3-point shooting. With that being said, Foye is having a tough year shooting from the field thus far this season (29.6% from 3 and 40.9% from 2). Whether or not Foye will have an impact for the Thunder will play itself out for the remainder of the season. Watch the video below and check out what the Thunder Heads think of the trade and a possible role that Foye will provide.
